He looked so good on paper. Graduated with honors from a top school. Worked for a major-name company. He scored near the top on the intelligence and job skills tests.

WHY ATTEND

Research shows that while intelligence, talent, and job skills are all very important, one factor separates performers from mere potential performers: Grit. The combination of perseverance and passion for long-term goals.

Join us for "Hiring for Grit: The Research Behind Finding Employees Who Last." In this webinar, you'll discover what "grit" really is, how to find it, how to measure it, and how to hire it.

There’s been a lot of interest lately in the concept of “grit.” It seems obvious that some people are better at getting things done no matter what gets in their way. And you’d think that these people would be pretty easy to spot.

It turns out, however, that traditional hiring processes do a poor job of selecting for grit. You can look at a candidate’s resume. You can test for skills. And you’ll get a pretty good idea of whether a candidate has the ability to perform. But, studies suggest, these metrics don’t necessarily predict whether a candidate will actually apply that ability, consistently, over the long term.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

In this webinar, you'll learn:

  • Why talent, credentials and past accomplishments don’t always predict on-the-job success
  • A three-step hiring approach – the Triple A model – to separate candidates who will get the job done from those who simply look good on paper.
  • Two key indicators you should look for in every job candidate’s resume or work history
  • Three big mistakes hiring professionals make when looking for grit
  • How some of the most prestigious universities and companies have applied an understanding of grit to their cultures.
