How to Build a Culture of Workplace Safety

Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 1pm ET           Duration: 60 minutes

We all want to work for organizations that truly values employee well-being and physical safety on the job. But how do you actually make it happen? How do you turn good safety practices and procedures into a true culture?

This idea-packed webinar will give you practical ideas on what you can do today to get the process started -- and win support throughout your organizations. (more details below)

WHY ATTEND

When this type of culture exists, safety becomes part of the ethos of the company and is reflected in daily operations, lower injury rates, and healthier employees.

But building this type of culture is no easy task. The first step is a company-wide commitment to safety, from executives and employees alike.

Whether you have workers on construction sites, employees in cubicles or drivers in trucks, this session will show you how any company can create an environment that fosters safety in all aspects of the business.

Workplace Safety expert and Certified Auditor Sal Caccavale will guide you through a step-by-step process that begins with gaining buy-in and ends with dramatically decreased safety incidents and lowered workers’ compensation costs. Plus, he’s show you how to rally your entire organization around your new culture of shared commitment to employee safety.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

In this webinar, you will learn how to:

  • Establish clear goals for your workplace safety program
  • Define the rules and responsibilities that will be the backbone of your safety culture
  • Build trust between coworkers and between management and employees – an essential step in getting buy-in from everyone on every level of the company
  • Understand the important role that training and education will play in your safety culture
  • Create a chain of accountability that places personal responsibility for safety on each member of the organization
  • Eradicate under-reporting of incidents (often an unintended, dangerous consequence of attempting to decrease safety incidents)
  • Conduct investigations into workplace incidents in a way that protects, and even strengthens, your safety culture
  • Be mindful of culture while correcting, communicating and monitoring fixes and changes to correct safety issues
  • Appropriately celebrate the success of your safer workplace
