Retention Strategies for Keeping Your Top-Performing Younger Employees

Duration: 90 minutes

More than 60% of younger employees leave their jobs within three years. On top of that, younger “millennials”—and now “Generation Z”—have a higher turnover than any other age cohort in history. Retention rates like this can wreak havoc on business resilience and recruiting costs.

But the fact is, there is no reason why any company needs to struggle to hang on to these employees. By making a series of straightforward and common-sense adjustments to your HR strategy, retaining top performing talent among younger workers is well within your reach. (more details below)

WHY ATTEND

Despite the negative reputation you sometimes hear about younger workers, the truth is simple: They don’t actually want to leave. They find change as uncomfortable as the rest of us, but they’ve been groomed to face the pain of change if the rewards are worth it. And recruiters are after your best employees all the time.

That means your job is to make staying at your company more rewarding than the alternate possibilities. Fortunately, more rewarding doesn’t necessarily mean higher salaries. It means greater opportunities to grow and learn, a dynamic and challenging environment, and workplace that consistently exceeds their expectations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

This webinar, featuring workplace productivity expert Wes Pruett, will teach you:

  • What compels today’s young employees to stay or leave—and how it differs from generations before
  • How to create a workplace community that will help these employees flourish and stay
  • How to plant the seed for retention during the recruitment, interview and onboarding practices- and why setting proper expectations is of critical importance for younger employees
  • Recent trends in HR that are particularly effective for younger employees—like Stay Interviews and Realistic Job Previews
  • A five-point retention model that has proven successful for other employers
  • Why your traditional employee recognition programs won’t work on your younger high performers—and may even drive them away faster
